Chekos’art – Time of Knowledge
Deze muurschildering is gemaakt door de Italiaanse kunstenaar Chekos’art voor het Fries Leesoffensief. Met zijn kunstwerken vertelt hij altijd een verhaal, vaak over maatschappelijke thema’s. Deze muurschildering staat in het teken van leesplezier en leesbevordering. Met het kunstwerk wil de school laten zien dat lezen helemaal normaal is. Lezen vergroot je woordenschat, prikkelt de fantasie en zorgt voor ontspanning. We hopen dat de leerlingen hierdoor geïnspireerd worden om meer te lezen!
Chekos’art: “De muurschildering toont een gestileerd profiel, doorsneden door horizontale lijnen die de stroom van gedachten en kennis oproepen. Bovenop het hoofd rust een stapel boeken, die studie, leren en persoonlijke groei symboliseren. Op de achtergrond herinnert een grote groene klok aan het belang van tijd, doorzettingsvermogen en toewijding in het onderwijs. De overheersende kleuren – groen, wit, zwart en geel – creëren een sterk visueel contrast, terwijl de scherpe geometrieën het werk een eigentijds en dynamisch karakter geven.”
“Dit kunstwerk nodigt uit tot reflectie op de waarde van onderwijs als instrument voor empowerment en op de relatie tussen kennis en tijd: elk gelezen boek wordt een integraal onderdeel van onze identiteit en draagt bij aan de vorming van het wereldbeeld van de nieuwe generaties.”
Italian artist Chekos’art created this mural for the Frisian Reading Offensive. His artwork always tells a story, often about social issues. This mural celebrates the joy of reading and encourages reading. With this artwork, the school aims to demonstrate that reading is a completely normal activity. Reading expands your vocabulary, sparks your imagination, and provides relaxation. We hope it will inspire students to read more!
Chekos’art: “The mural depicts a stylized profile, crossed by horizontal lines that evoke the flow of thoughts and knowledge. On top of the head rests a stack of books, symbolizing study, learning, and personal growth. In the background, a large green clock recalls the importance of time, perseverance, and commitment in education. The predominant colors – green, white, black, and yellow – create a strong visual contrast, while the sharp geometries give the work a contemporary and dynamic character.
This artwork invites reflection on the value of education as a tool for empowerment and on the relationship between knowledge and time: every book read becomes an integral part of our identity and contributes to shaping the worldview of the new generations.”
