Chekos’art – Reading is Fun
Deze kleurrijke muurschildering is gemaakt door de Italiaanse kunstenaar Chekos’art voor het Fries Leesoffensief. Met zijn kunstwerken vertelt hij altijd een verhaal, vaak over maatschappelijke thema’s. Deze muurschildering staat in het teken van leesplezier en leesbevordering. Met het kunstwerk wil de school laten zien dat lezen helemaal normaal is. Lezen vergroot je woordenschat, prikkelt de fantasie en zorgt voor ontspanning. We hopen dat de leerlingen hierdoor geïnspireerd worden om meer te lezen!
Chekos’art: “Het werk heet ‘Lezen is leuk’ en toont een jongere die verdiept is in het lezen van een boek. Ik geloof dat lezen veel meer betekent dan alleen kennis vergaren: het is een daad van vrijheid, een innerlijke reis die ons in staat stelt duizend verschillende levens te leiden en de wereld met steeds nieuwe ogen te zien. Met dit werk wilde ik leerlingen eraan herinneren dat lezen geen verplichting is, maar een geschenk dat de verbeelding en persoonlijke groei voedt.”
EN: This colorful mural was created by Italian artist Chekos’art for the Fries Leesoffensief project. His artwork always tells a story, for example, about social issues. This mural celebrates the joy of reading and encourages reading. With this artwork, the school aims to demonstrate that reading is a completely normal activity. Reading expands your vocabulary, sparks your imagination, and provides relaxation. We hope it will inspire students to read more
Chekos’art: “The work is titled ‘Reading is fun’ and depicts a young person immersed in reading a book. I believe that reading means much more than gathering knowledge: it is an act of freedom, an inner journey that allows us to live a thousand different lives and to see the world with ever-new eyes. With this piece, I wanted to remind students that reading is not an obligation, but a gift that nourishes imagination and personal growth.
