Don Slizerone x Eenarmige Bandiet
Dit is een bijzondere! Een kunstwerk (keer drie) én een werkende plattegrondenmachine met… nog meer kunstwerken! Hoe dat werkt, lees je hieronder (hint: gratis kunst!). Maar eerst terug naar Don Slizerone. 🥵
Don: “Door de opvallende vorm van de dispenser ontstond al snel het idee om een man met een helm te maken. Ik had al twee schetsen klaar en kreeg toen te horen dat de locatie ergens anders zou zijn. Dankzij psychische telekinese (of gewoon puur geluk) pasten de kleuren van de schets perfect bij het omringende gebouw van de art-decogevel aan de overkant van het water. Later werd ook de prullenbak onderdeel van het project. En omdat “alle goede dingen bestaan in drieën” voegde ik de lantaarnpaal ook toe aan het kunstwerk om het geheel een eenheid te laten vormen.”

Ter ere van de ‘Oude Markten Street Art Takeover’ hebben we in samenwerking met Visit Leeuwarden kunstwerken verstopt tussen de plattegronden in deze machine (oftewel de ‘eenarmige bandiet’). Hoe deze eruit zien gaan we niet verklappen! Dus… op naar de bandiet! Je vindt ‘m op het kruispunt Voorstreek / Tuinen, tegenover Vis & Dis. Succes!

Don: “Because of the distinctive shape of the dispenser, the idea to make a guy with a helmet was quickly born. I already had 2 sketches ready and then got informed the location would be somewhere else than initially planned. Due to psychic telekinesis (or just pure luck), the colors of the sketch matched the surrounding building of the art deco façade on the other side of the water perfectly. Later, the wastebin became part of the project as well. And since ‘three is a crowd’, I added the lamppost into the artwork as well to join it all together.”
