Hugo Tekstra – Sint Jacob en zijn ezel
Van de studio naar de straat: Leeuwarder kunstenaar Hugo Tekstra creeërde deze paste-up voor de Street Art Takeover! Je vindt dit kunstwerk op het pand van The Saint in Leeuwarden.
Hugo: “Op de mural zie je Sint Jacob samen met zijn ezel onderweg naar Santiago de Compostella. Het onderwerp hangt samen met de straatnaam (Hoek Sint Jacobsstraat/Klokstraat) en de naam van de winkel waarop ik het kunstwerk maakte (The Saint). Eerst maakte ik in mijn atelier een 3d-collage van restkarton. Deze heb ik gefotografeerd en als paste-up aangebracht op de muur.”

Hugo: “The mural depicts Saint James and his donkey on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The subject is related to the street name (corner of Sint Jacobsstraat/Klokstraat) and the name of the shop where I created the artwork (The Saint). First, I created a 3D collage in my studio using scrap cardboard. I photographed this and applied it to the wall as a paste-up.”
