De Berlijnse illustrator Kate Voronina maakte dit enorme kleurrijke kunstwerk op de achterkant van Hotel Post-Plaza in Leeuwarden. Kate is een meester in illustraties en haar kunstwerken bevatten veel levendige scènes en leuke alledaagse en niet-zo-alledaagse elementen. In deze hoge mural brengt ze haar kenmerkende stijl groots tot leven! Kate over haar muurschildering: “Bij het werken aan deze muurschildering had ik de volledige vrijheid om mezelf uit te drukken. Deze keer wilde ik iets aardigs en romantisch maken.
De muurschildering is mijn metafoor voor liefde. Als mensen in dezelfde richting kijken, niet alleen naar elkaar. En zij zijn de hele wereld. Aan de bovenkant zijn ze groot en ongeveer in het midden van het universum, in het midden zijn ze als een stel, maar van normale grootte die door het bos lopen. Aan de onderkant zijn ze klein in hun denkbeeldige wereld, en die wereld is groter dan zijzelf.”

This time I wanted to create something kind and romantic. The mural is my metaphor for love. When people look in the same direction, not only at each other. And they are the whole world. At the top they are big and sort of at the center of the universe, in the middle they are like a couple, but of regular size walking through the forest. At the bottom part, they are tiny in their imaginary world, and that world is bigger than themselves.”
