ENG: Artist Lily Brick brought her powerful artworks to the Waterwijk area! She celebrates humankind in her many murals around the world, now adding Lelystad to her list.
Here’s what she says about her mural: “We have tried to avoid reflecting local folklore to make the mural more inclusive for the neighbors. It depicts an anecdotal image, representing the innocence of a child playing on the beach, who represents the present and the future. Instead of using the typical sandcastle mold, the child is building a sand house near the sea. Playing on the beach represents the future, a generation that lives with and loves nature, that respects animals and the planet. He is an independent child who looks to the future positively, with a smiley flag. It is a positive look at the future, seeking to show good vibrations.”

Dit is wat ze zegt over haar mural: Lily: “Het toont een anekdotisch beeld, dat de onschuld vertegenwoordigt van een kind dat op het strand speelt. Het vertegenwoordigt het heden en de toekomst. In plaats van de typische zandkasteelvorm te gebruiken, bouwt het kind een zandhuis vlakbij de zee. Spelen op het strand vertegenwoordigt een generatie die leeft met en houdt van de natuur, die dieren en de planeet respecteert. Hij is een zelfstandig kind dat positief naar de toekomst kijkt, met een smileyvlag. Het is een positieve blik op de toekomst.”
