De mural van deze Jordaanse kunstenaar is het resultaat van het uitwisselingsproject ‘Open Art Shuffle’ in samenwerking met Open Art Museum en de Nederlandse Ambassade in Jordanië. Miramar: “Om het Jordaans-Nederlandse project op het gebied van dadelteelt te erkennen, heb ik de bloemen van de dadelboom geschilderd. Mijn kunstwerk toont ook de palmboom: een belangrijk kenmerk van het Jordaanse landschap. Hoewel ze overal in Jordanië groeien, zijn ze in Nederland niet aanwezig. Daarom heb ik Nederland een palmboom cadeau gegeven die het hele jaar door bloeit.”
EN: This mural by Jordan artist Miramar Al-Nayyar is the result of the exchange project ‘Open Art Shuffle’ in collaboration with the Open Art Museum and the Dutch Embassy in Jordan. Miramar: “To recognize the Jordan-Netherlands collaborative project in date farming, I decided to include the flowers of the date tree in my mural. My mural depicts another feature of Jordan’s landscape: the palm tree. While they grow all over Jordan, they are not present in the Netherlands. Therefore, I decided to gift the Netherlands a palm tree that could flourish all year long.”
