Dat Simian Switch kan schakelen tussen twee muren, dat zie je hier! In zijn onderzoek naar de buurt vond hij inspiratie in de hobby’s van verveelde jeugd. Hobby’s waar extremen in te vinden zijn, maar ook veel discipline en doorzettingsvermogen. De BMX-rijders en auto staan symbool voor de vele talenten die in de wijk te vinden zijn. Er is zelfs nog een kleine referentie naar een specifieke buurtbewoner te vinden!
Over zijn inspiratie vertelt hij dit: “Ik deed wat onderzoek naar het gebied waar we zouden schilderen en ontdekte dat het een multiculturele wijk is met veel jongeren, dus ik besloot mijn muurschildering hier een beetje over te maken. Omdat de muur uit twee delen bestaat, koos ik ervoor om mijn illustratie van een personage op een BMX uit elkaar te halen en een ‘getunede’ auto toe te voegen. Ik heb voor deze twee onderwerpen gekozen omdat het een discipline verbeeldt die niet zonder risico’s is, maar wel doorzettingsvermogen vereist.”

Hobbies that encompass extremes but also require great discipline and perseverance. The BMX riders and car enthusiasts in the area symbolize the abundance of talents found within the community. There is even a subtle reference to a specific local resident!
About the inspiration for his wall, he says: “I did some small research on the kind of area we would be painting and found that it’s a multicultural area with lots of youth, so I decided to make my mural kind of about this. With the wall being a two-parter, I chose to cut up my illustration of a character on a BMX and add a ‘tuned’ car. I chose these two as it depicts a discipline that is not without risks but does need perseverance.”
