ENG: Dutch illustrator and paint duo VAAF (+ team) created this flexible looking mural for Assen.
VAAF: “We often look for poses that are either júst or just not feasible in real life. (With enough space in the parking lot to try it out). Furthermore, we like a design in which several things can be seen or that several can mean things. Is it a free dance? Or is the woman also a flower that sheds its petals? Is it a fried egg at the bottom left? And we prefer to paint with as much color as possible, to make the environment more cheerful!”.
NL: VAAF: “We zoeken vaak naar houdingen die of nét wel of nét niet uitvoerbaar zijn in het echt. (Met genoeg ruimte op de parkeerplaats om het uit te proberen). Verder houden we van een ontwerp waarin meerdere dingen gezien kunnen worden of dat meerdere dingen kan betekenen. Is het een vrije dans? Of is de vrouw ook een bloem die haar blaadjes loslaat? Is linksonder een spiegelei? En het liefst Vaaf’en we met zoveel mogelijk kleur, om een omgeving vrolijker te maken!”.
