INFO

EN: Kenny Cookwell is the alter ego of an artist from Leeuwarden. This ‘Grim Reaper’ artwork is about deforestation. “Tropical rainforests are of unimaginable value to our planet. Yet more than 5 billion trees are cut down every year. This is mainly because space has to be made for palm oil plantations, soybean plantations, cattle, and wood. The biodiversity is also destroyed by the felling. It takes years to restore this. At least, if it recovers at all because in this way we are well on our way to destroying ‘our’ earth. We can no longer ignore this.”
