TWOONE voor Culturele Hoofdstad Leeuwarden, 2018. De Japanse kunstenaar TWOONE haalde zijn inspiratie uit de stad Leeuwarden zelf: de zilvermeeuwen op straat, het boeket wildbloemen wat hij de eerste dag plukte, de naam van de kroeg waar hij ‘s nachts belandde en het patroon van de keramiektegels in Museum Princessehof. Zijn techniek is anders dan andere graffiti kunstenaars: “I used a water pressure sprayer, and a roller with extension pole to paint the mural”. De kunstenaar gebruikte maar één spuitbus: die voor de glow in the dark snavels van de zilvermeeuwen.

Japanese artist TWOONE took his inspiration from the city of Leeuwarden itself: the herring gulls on the street, the bouquet of wild flowers he picked on the first day, the name of the pub where he ended up at night, and the pattern of the ceramic tiles in the Museum Princessehof. His technique is different from other graffiti artists: “I used a water pressure sprayer, and a roller with an extension pole to paint the mural”. The artist only used one spray can: the one for the glow-in-the-dark beaks of the herring gulls.
