Dit werk is gemaakt door Belgische kunstenaar NEAN in ‘t Lelycentre. NEAN is een all-around kunstenaar uit Brussel. Zijn muurschilderingen zou je kunnen herkennen aan de fotorealistische portretten in combinatie met experimentele elementen. Ook het landschap en de omgeving waarin zijn verbeelde personen zich bevinden speelt een belangrijke rol in zijn werk, waardoor het werk vaak verwikkeld is met de natuur. Dit gemaakte werk in Lelystad van het mens en de zee geeft een dromerige en nostalgische indruk. Dit is de eerste muurschildering van NEAN wat volledig gemaakt is met verf.
